Service / Trades

Websites for tradespeople and workshops that bring in work.

A website for tradespeople has three jobs: show up when someone nearby searches for your trade, explain on a phone in seconds what you do and where, and make it quick to call or send an enquiry. We build exactly that for plumbers, electricians, builders, garages and specialist workshops across the UK and Europe, from €1,500 and usually live in 2–6 weeks.

What a website for tradespeople has to do

People looking for a tradesperson usually search on their phone, often with a specific problem: a leaking pipe, a tripped fuse box, a car due its service. At that moment the prettiest design matters less than whether the page loads fast, whether it is clear that you cover their area, and whether they can call you with one tap.

The same website is also the first impression for bigger jobs: extensions, refurbishments, landlords and letting agents, commercial clients. They read your reviews and look at past work before they pick up the phone. A good site serves both: the urgent call-out and the considered quote.

What every trade business website needs

  • One page per service: a page for each thing you do, with a clear heading, so Google can find it on its own, for example “boiler installation” or “EV charger installation”.
  • Service area: the towns and districts you cover, written in the text, not only shown on a map.
  • Recent jobs with photos: real work from your area, before and after, with one line about the job.
  • Contact in two taps: a tap-to-call number, a WhatsApp button and a short enquiry form, reachable from every page.
  • Opening hours and call-out times: including emergency cover, if you offer it.
  • Proof you are legitimate: registrations and memberships such as Gas Safe or NICEIC in the UK, a Meisterbrief in Germany, insurance and guarantees, but only the ones you really hold.
  • A careers page: many trade firms are short of skilled staff, not customers. A simple jobs page helps with that.

Your own website or lead sites like Checkatrade?

Directories and lead platforms such as Checkatrade, MyBuilder or Rated People in the UK, or MyHammer in Germany, can fill a quiet diary. The catch: you pay for membership or per lead, the same job goes to several firms, and your reviews live on someone else's platform. If you stop paying, the visibility stops too.

Your own website works the other way round. Every enquiry it brings is yours, at no cost per lead, and it keeps working as long as it is online. Most firms do well with both: a listing where it pays off, and a website plus a well-kept Google Business Profile as the base that nobody can switch off.

Websites for garages and workshops

Garages and workshops need a few extras: an online booking request with registration number, vehicle and job, clear information on servicing, tyres, air conditioning and MOT preparation, and courtesy cars or collection and delivery if you offer them. Fixed prices for standard jobs save you a lot of phone calls asking for a quote.

For specialists, such as classic cars, motorcycles or custom builds, the website is also a shop window. It is where the workshop shows what sets it apart from every other garage in town.

Case study: Drag Race Choppers, Germany

Drag Race Choppers in Leverkusen is a custom Harley-Davidson workshop and a professional drag racer at the same time. The website needed the same attitude as the bikes: direct, precise, unmistakable. We built a dark, high-contrast design with strong typography and organised the site around what matters to the workshop: services, the founder's racing history, the machine itself and a direct route to get in touch.

Behind the scenes, automations send every enquiry straight into the workshop's workflow, so no lead gets lost between the website and the workbench. See the full Drag Race Choppers case study.

Getting found: local SEO for tradespeople

Most jobs come from within a few miles. That is why local visibility matters more than national rankings: a complete Google Business Profile with photos and reviews, service pages that name the places you cover, and a fast, technically clean website. Our guide SEO for small businesses covers the steps you can take yourself.

We build that groundwork into every trade website: clear page titles, LocalBusiness structured data, consistent name, address and phone number everywhere, and pages that load quickly on a mobile connection on site.

FAQ

Common questions

01How much does a website for a tradesperson cost?

Our websites start at €1,500. The final price depends mainly on the number of service pages, past jobs and features such as an online booking request. After a short call you get a fixed quote.

02How long does it take to get my website online?

Most projects go live in 2–6 weeks. It goes fastest when photos and details of your services arrive early.

03Do I need a website if I get work through Checkatrade or word of mouth?

Perhaps not straight away. But people who are recommended to you still look you up before they call, and so do job applicants. Your own site keeps working without per-lead fees and keeps the enquiries yours.

04What should a trade website include?

One page per service, the area you cover, recent jobs with photos, a tap-to-call number and short enquiry form, your registrations and insurance, and the company details and privacy notice the law requires.

05Can I update the website myself?

No, and you do not have to. We hand-code the site without a CMS or plugins, so there is nothing to log into, update or break. Send us photos of a finished job or a new price by message or email and we put it live quickly: small changes as part of website care, bigger ones at a fixed price.

06Do you work with trades in the UK?

Yes. We are a small team based in Lisbon and work remotely with businesses across the UK and Europe, in English, German and Portuguese. Most of the work happens by phone, video call and email.
